Verdict: Migraine
Mar. 4th, 2009 07:13 pmI spent the better part of two hours in an ophthalmologist's office this afternoon. I got to hear lots of nice, reassuring things about my eyes: "normal," "perfectly healthy," "youthful," etc., and my retinas are "squeaky clean." Also apparently it's very unusual for someone as nearsighted as I am to have flat optic nerves, but mine are, and flat is good. Who knew?
So I learned that the kind of lights one gets for retinal detachment are entirely different. They kind of zing past in a flash, rather than hanging around and twinkling. I just have migraine. This puts my recurring "sinus headaches" in a new light, too.
Speaking of new light, I had to go see my advisor after the appointment, and driving home after dark was weird. Every headlight, every streetlight, was surrounded by a huge halo with radiating spokes of light. It was awfully hard to judge how far away other cars were. Edit: I mean from having my eyes dilated - no recurrence of the migraine effects.
