T visits, a halibut lament, and thoughts on Malaysia

Today my old (but young) friend T, whom I hadn't seen in at least 8 years, dropped by to catch up. He's switching from one nanotechnology field to another. (I liked having someone ask about my academic interests, my thoughts and plans and progress!) Also we talked about his discovery that other places (such as the one where he lives) don't have halibut fish-and-chips, like we do in the Pacific Northwest, which is quite unfortunate.

fractal9091 got to make his plane reservations for the Malaysia trip today, and now I've got a stack of library books to look at, so I can see what one does when one has two or three spare days in Kuala Lumpur.
