What a nuisance!

I read in today's newspaper that our childcare provider is going out of business in two weeks, after 38 years. Supposedly we were all notified on Thursday. This is disorienting and exasperating, though not catastrophic (for our own family). We rely on them for afterschool care on Tuesdays (which I was planning to expand this year), and for all-day childcare on the days school is closed (teacher workdays, winter break, spring break, and, umm, nearly the entire summer break). So much nicer than those big daycamps, because these people have a real site with classrooms and a gym, real supervision by qualified teachers, and a nice purple bus that picks them up at school and also takes them to parks, pools, and the library. Or at least they will until August 24th.
