In which the boys go to Portland and I get to be Miroku

Today the boys went off on a great adventure - they drove to Portland to visit an old-fashioned video arcade with B, which is an A---- Family Tradition for which D. is now old enough (though formerly we had such arcades in Eugene). First they all went out to lunch, where D. ate only french fries (he was very thirsty when he got home this evening!), and then on to the arcade. R. mostly played Doctor Who pinball. After a while they went on to the zoo! Highlights for D., who (believe it or not) hadn't been to a zoo before, were being only a foot away from a swimming polar bear and seeing baby lemurs. Oh, and something called tree kangaroos, which I've never heard of but which I'm told have very stiff tails. Then they came home.

Meanwhile, I watched a TV show about Roman North Africa, worked on my FYP paper a bit, reread some of HP5, and eventually played a bunch of Warcraft 3 with fractal9091, including a version that simulated Inuyasha! I was the monk Miroku and he was Inuyasha's brother Sesshomaru, and it was more fun than I expected. It's not out of the question that we'll play it some more in a bit, too. Meanwhile, back to my paper.
