Transitions
Jun. 14th, 2007 08:49 pmLast full day of first grade - and D's teacher is retiring, and we love her. Hard to say goodbye. Last day of Kindermusik today, too - D's been doing that for four years now, and has known some of those kids a long time.
Kindermusik was a bit wild today. The teacher's daughter had a fifth-grade-project crisis and desperately needed her mom to help fix it, so the kids (five boys) had their end-of-class party at the beginning of class then ran around the room shrieking and playing tag. By some miracle they did more or less settle down when the class finally started a half hour late. The one mom who has a baby due in four days was quite impressive, stamina-wise. I attempted to play "Mouse Mousie in the Housie" with the kids, but of course couldn't possibly get up off the floor fast enough to avoid getting tagged. At the end, each kid got a certificate of completion, a book of funny songs, and, yay, a hula hoop.
