Yesterday I did manage to get my second survey into the student pool. Today all I'm good for so far is responding to LJ posts (even one I wasn't supposed to, bad girl!) and sleeping. At least my temperature regulation has kicked in. On Monday night, the hot tea I'd drunk before bedtime to unthaw my chilled muscles wore off after about four hours' sleep, and I lay here awake and desperately needing a fourth blanket for more than an hour before I overcame inertia and fetched one.

I'm bummed that I am missing my friend's noon talk on the last chapter of her book on gender identity and 20th century German lit.

But! So that I'm not entirely doom and gloom, I will share two very, very funny (and as you'll see from their titles, not entirely dissimilar) links!I just watched that second one again. *lol*

  • I got a nice e-mail from my friend about her talk, which I'd missed today.

  • Meanwhile, this morning while I was sleeping with earplugs in (neighbors are doing roofing), the school called to send D. home with conjunctivitis. They did reach R. at work.

About two months ago she started "embiggening," to use a Simpsons verb. We feed her less than the weight-loss portion of the Iams non-active cat food, and yet, now we have this immense creature:
