Grant news, "hope," and Persian shrimp

News: Our NIH grant proposal is being reviewed in June like we originally expected, rather than October. One good thing about not getting the NSF fellowship is that I can now actually root for the grant to get funded - I may need the FTE!

This morning I read an interesting essay on what, exactly, "hope" means, by Anthony Steinbock.

I tried a new recipe for dinner, but it had an obvious mistake, which I'll correct next time. Other than that, it was tasty!
