I spent at least three hours today filling in teleforms with phone survey data and worked quite a while on our recruitment paper draft, but I also had some fun. R. and I took our first look the Special Edition Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD. First, we watched the movie itself. I'd chosen one of the subtitle options: "Subtitles For People Who Don't Like The Film" gives you a rewrite of the entire script using lines and phrases from Shakespeare's Henry VI Part II, a feat that impressed me and sometimes made us laugh. There's a trick to starting the movie -- if you choose "Play the Movie" you get some old black-and-white movie about a dentist or something. We also watched several extras, including a Lego version of the Camelot song and an educational film from the "Ministry of Food" on making use of coconuts. The other fun things were playing rummy with R. (which we used to do frequently but hadn't in years) and reading some of a book about the Alhambra. (I'd kind of overdosed on fiction, what with reading about 1,600 pages of Feist in just over a week.)

Not a bad day for having woken at 2:50 a.m. with stomach 'flu and adding a cold by evening. Now I can enjoy the rain sounds 'til bedtime.
