Rainy afternoon
Oct. 25th, 2004 08:50 pmAbsent-mindedly, I "returned" our Scooby Doo 2 to Flicks & Pics in the Legally Blonde box, so I had to run over and swap movies during Kindermusik. On the way back, driving in the rain through one of the little "tunnels of trees," a very young male deer wanted to cross the road. He stood and stared, and I stopped for him, but he decided he'd rather wait. His little antlers were about 5" long.
Happy 494th birthday to Renée of France, Duchess of Ferrara and patron of the Protestant Reformation. Daughter, sister-in-law, and aunt to the Renaissance kings of France, she thought for herself in a time when doing so could get you thrown into prison, denied access to your children, and terrorized in your home by the royal army, even if you were a princess. Go Renée.
