Vacation...

My vacation week keeps receding into the future. J. visits me once a year, and that's when I take my vacation. Back in late May, though, we looked at our calendars (JA's wedding, D's birthday, preschool vacations, etc.), and concluded that only two weeks of the whole summer could work. Then we procrastinated until only one week would work, Aug. 12-19. He was going to buy his tickets right before going to Maine. And then, suddenly we discovered that his class reunion, originally scheduled for September, had been moved to Aug. 14. *sigh* So then he thought he could miss a week of class in September, an idea that I was never quite comfortable with, and we picked Sept. 10-17. So, last night, just on the verge of buying tickets, he decides that he'd really like to take two particularly challenging classes. Great, but then the idea of missing a full week really becomes stressful. So now we're thinking of mid-October, during this thing they have back East called "fall break"...
