A surprise!

I was so excited today to get an e-mail from R's sister -- she and her new husband (they got married just over two years ago) and their little girl (they're raising her, though biologically she's the husband's granddaughter) will be in town on Monday! They're on a quick trip to Washington, over to Idaho, back to the Portland zoo, and then stopping in Eugene on their way home to Red Bluff (in the Central Valley of northern California). I'm pretty sure I haven't seen her since we moved back up here 12 years ago, and we've never met her husband or the baby, nor has she seen our D. It will make our 23rd anniversary extra memorable, and D. is very excited about meeting a cousin. (Until now, his only cousins have been 22 and 20 years older, and he's not really aware of them yet.)
