Day 983: Schubert

Today I started a three-week class on Schubert's late string quartets. Schubert's work is always appealing, and today I learned that one specific thing he liked to do was create a "minor major," if I'm remembering correctly - it involves slipping in minor notes here and there in something that's otherwise in a major key.
The mildly annoying thing about this class is that unlike the previous Delgani String Quartet classes, which as far as I can remember have all been at 7 pm, this one's at 6 pm. And that would be fine most days of the week, but Monday is my fun time socializing over dinner at the Taphouse with J. and DG - I usually get a giant pretzel with beer-cheese dipping sauce and a few sips of whichever cider J's drinking. So now I have to cut that way short to get home by 6 pm.
Today was extra-fun, though, because en route to the Taphouse I went to the library to get four books I'd realized I wanted, and they also surprised me with three books on hold. Seven books! Such loot!
