When I got into my car after shopping at Market of Choice this afternoon, the classical station was playing something familiar, nice, and cool - a piano version of an African American spiritual. I didn't remember exactly what it was, though. Then it was announced that this was part of the Played in Oregon radio series, a recording of Michelle Cann playing Margaret Bonds's "Troubled Water" by the Eugene Symphony. And I was there! It was a year ago; I'd heard it live.
So part of the applause at the end - that was me.
