E-sports day

So J. and D. visited La Brea Tar Pits and its museum in the morning, then spent five hours in the afternoon at the League of Legends e-sports competition. What an excellent mom I am to send D. to the most thrilling thing he could imagine. Or, more, what an extraordinarily helpful person J. is to take him to Los Angeles and attend the events with him. Although J. loves a great many games, League is not one that interests him. Still, he said it was fun. I hope he won't mind five more hours of it tomorrow!
Meanwhile, I made some DVR space by watching a PBS thing about the Gilded Age and yet another Hallmark mystery, this one set at Hatley Castle in BC. Or rather, set in Massachusetts but filmed in BC. I also went to a talk about some organ music and listened to the ensuing recital. The famous creator of the organ was among the audience - his organs were sought world-wide but now he's retired. And I made broccoli-romano risotto.
