A full and cozy day

Today was very full, and more interesting than yesterday. In the afternoon I went to G's lab, and this time I wrote down lots of interesting thoughts that I need to write up to send to him. Then I had an impromptu meeting with him and "our" grad student A, who wanted some advice. I then rushed home to pick up my library books and returned them to the public library, which had that Fire and Fury book on hold for me. I went to the Taphouse and ordered dinner for me and J; he joined me a bit later, just before the food arrived. Then I went to Smith Family books and bought this month's book club book, Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, along with an impulse purchase of Ursula Le Guin's blog-post book, No Time to Spare. Then I went home and drove D. to pep band, which he enjoyed this time because the team played well and won; afterwards he shared thoughts on "the road not taken." Meanwhile I had been grocery shopping and worked on edits for paper #3. Soon after we got home post-basketball, J. came home from Magic and I went over there to read cozily on the couch. Fire and Fury isn't really cozy reading, so instead I read half the Le Guin book, while enjoying the windstorm beginning outside. I also had fun trying my answers to the Magic Great Designer Search 3 multiple choice test - I think I did very well - and picked D. up from his girlfriend's house. The day feels very thorough, and I can enjoy listening to the wind some more now while I start the Ng book.
