Not bad for Friday the 13th

Much of today was taken up with giving advice, which is always fun. A friend wanted some input on considering grad school, and I also had some relationship thoughts to impart to D, on a topic we'd discussed last night. I didn't think he'd want to listen for quite as long as what I had to say, so I amused myself by writing him a letter. He actually read it right when I handed it to him.
Meanwhile, we learned today that B. has a new job. This time he's working for a worthy non-profit, a group that helps homeless and at-risk youth get housing, education, and employment. I think and hope he'll be much happier there than at his previous jobs. (He was making D. his beneficiary, so the latter called me to get his social security number, and I prompted him to ask about the job.)
What else? I did some tidying, and met J. for dinner at the Glenwood, but so early that the other patrons were all elderly, most of them picking up food to go. He went to draft Magic, and I came home and watched the last episodes of season one of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and later I finished reading one of the last Amelia Peabody books, Children of the Storm. Meanwhile, D. is watching his favorite League of Legends team, which is vying tonight for the top 8 position in the world championships.
I wish we could send some of our rain to Santa Rosa!
