A fine day

eve_primeThis afternoon I spent nearly three hours getting to know a new friend, "P," who recently moved here and is in our book club. We sat in the garden patio outside the Friendly Street deli and shared enthusiasms with each other. She's great! She's here for grad school.
I went back home and J. decided to skip Friday Magic. Instead we read outside together until it was time for a benefit concert I was attending. He wasn't interested, which is good, because it was sold out. (I'd bought my ticket in advance and figured we could get one for him at the door. Nope.) Anyway, it was the Delgani String Quartet playing with some local folk/bluegrass guys who mostly just jam together but tonight were appearing as the Western Tanagers. The concert lasted two hours!
Then I came home and watched J. play more Hollow Knight. Tonight he got a new skill that lets him "dash" for great horizontal distances, like a rocket. This let him go a number of places he couldn't reach before.
The haze (and heat) are back, as of the last few hours. It's going to be a long weekend.
