Today I went to a community event for the Youth Symphony - an educational event for 3rd and 4th graders from local schools. About 1100 of them came to D's high school to watch the Youth Symphony in two performances, each concluding with the kids getting to walk through the symphony on their way out of the building, while the symphony plays the main "Star Wars" theme about seven times.
I went to the second performance on my way to my eye dr. appointment (eyes okay for now, he says). D. was so eager to go home afterwards that he asked to ride along with me, even though I was going to the eye doctor. I had hoped the appointment would take only 30 minutes but it was more like 70, what with a whole lot of waiting at various stages, and D. was very cross at that point. J. had come to drive me home, yay, and took me back around sunset to fetch my car.
