Today I went to an early music concert featuring music for Easter week by the Neapolitan composer Pergolesi, who lived in the 1700s and died at age 26 from tuberculosis. Beautiful music.
I find that I do much better at "immersion" in this type of music if (a) there are words, (b) they're written down, and (c) they're in another language. My brain stays engaged quite well if it has that much to work with.
