J. made it up to 9-3 in the Magic tournament in San Jose, a great achievement given that he'd been at 3-3; he finished at 10-5. One more win and he'd have been in the money. (He finished 224th out of 1908 players. Those finishing 33rd-64th won $250; 1st prize was $10,000.)
I listened to seven baroque or baroque-inspired works to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Central Lutheran's fancy Brombaugh organ. I'm not qualified to judge the quality of the sound, but the instrument is physically gorgeous. Very loud, though - took some getting used to. Here it is:
