Women's March

I missed the actual marching part, alas, but spent some time at the rally at the ending point. Lots of noise, lots of pink, a good number of men, great signs. I read that locally we had 7,000 marchers, in the pouring rain. One of the women was from out of town, and I gave her directions back to the starting point so she could find her car. I'm glad people are feeling so energized now about dealing with whatever comes next.
A checker at Safeway thanked me sincerely for going to the event. He's a real sweetie, and since I've seen him with his boyfriend I know it means a lot to him that the community is standing up for everyone's rights. I just hope that people can stay galvanized and that numbness doesn't set in soon.
