Feels like summer

Even though it was only in the 70s and much of the day was cloudy, I had the relaxing feeling of summer today. J. and I drove to Bailey Hill school to look around the grounds, as the youth orchestra office is moving there in a few weeks, and then we went to Lowe's, which is huge and fun. Later we read in his library again, and again, just as it got too dark to read by the light of the sun, there was a gorgeous sunset, which we went outside to enjoy with the neighbors.
In between, after dinner but well before the sunset, I took D. to the middle school parking lot and taught him the very basics of operating a car, just as I had with his brother, long ago. He was dismayed at the sensitivity of the accelerator, and I assured him that a great many cars (including J's and my mom's) are more "vroomy" than mine, so he'll have to get used to it.
I'm currently taking a short break from rereading Modesitt's Imager prequel series to read Delany's They Fly at Çiron.
