Wardrobe improvement

eve_primeTwo of D’s friends, male and female, volunteered to help him improve his wardrobe and make it more “fashionable,” which I am of course unqualified to do. His standard outfit is some variant on charcoal grey t-shirt plus jeans, and some of his t-shirts (like the new one with a skeleton playing a saxophone) are more suited to an adult sense of humor, I guess.
Anyway, they set forth for the mall on the bus, D’s pocket full of cash, and they came back six hours later. His purchases had all been prudent: two very soft t-shirt-like shirts, a pair of khaki slacks, a very soft white hoodie, and a new pair of shoes. I’d been afraid that they would talk him into buying things that they liked and he did not, but he was happy with all of these, and they all seemed well within the range of things I could picture him wearing.
