eve_primeToday we had people over to play Magic, old friends and new. We had nine, which was perfect for me because it meant I could draft cards without having to play (my sinuses are not feeling the greatest). Our new friends are a couple who are environmental law students and also like to cosplay.
My favorite overheard line was from my friend C, describing her cards as, "like the army of ents in The Two Towers, but flying."
I also met the fellow who just bought the house next door, one of the fixer-uppers of the neighborhood. I was able to let him know that the large plant leaning against his fence was not just the "big bush" he thought, but rather, one of our favorite roses. Hopefully his fence replacement project will be compatible with the long path of roses alongside the driveway.
