eve_primeLast night, I ordered a new laptop. I’m going back to Lenovo after only two years with this Toshiba. I’m pretty tired of having to work around the malfunctioning keyboard – losing the left-shift key was pretty much the last straw. It’s also annoying to have only limited use of the Q, J, Z, X, 1, 2, 6, 7, and 9 keys. Ctrl-x can’t be relied on at all.
Meanwhile, I finally got around to replacing my ancient cable modem. The new one works great so far, knock on wood. The old one sometimes worked great, too, often for days on end, but other days it would fail every few minutes. Replacing it was easier than I expected, and would have been even more so if I’d noticed when I unplugged the router, which left it trying to log onto the extension, which I didn’t recognize for quite a while. (It took nearly 10 seconds of holding down the key to get that ‘q’ in ‘quite,’ by the way.)
