NaNoWriMo report

eve_primeI think I mentioned that we decided to collectively do NaNoWriMo this year, in a casual fashion. We decided we’d just work on our projects when we could all do it at the same time, and we were pretty busy, and it was hard to find the time. Our six 20-minute writing sessions amounted to two hours total – casual indeed! Anyway, D. wrote an amusing two-act play about the murder of a feline monarch (King Prissypaws) and its investigation, which he had us orally perform tonight after he finished it. J. started writing a story about a near-future Earth, and I wrote the first 2,247 words of a science fiction story set on a fantasy-like distant world, which humans were able to visit, one at a time. It was fun! Go us!
(I loved hearing D. tell his friends on Skype that he couldn’t talk because it was time for him to go do NaNoWriMo... “NaNoWriMo! Go look it up! NaNoWriMo!” Eventually he took pity on them and explained that it’s National Novel Writing Month. I wonder what they thought then.)
