I had thought that maybe the big multinationals that create most of our household products were becoming maybe a bit more sensitive to those of us who can’t deal with fragrances. Nowadays, you can pretty much assume that toilet paper and facial tissues will be unscented, unlike the olden days when they were usually fragrant. And there are plenty of unscented options for kitty litter, and even a fair number for laundry detergent.

But today I was taken aback when J. was shopping for plastic garbage bags. Almost all of them were scented! Lemon, green apple, lavender, vanilla, lavender-vanilla... good grief. I hope this fad dies quickly. I like to be able to go into other people’s houses.
