And along comes November

A busy day:
- I’m glad this head cold is so ignorable.
- And the weather was pretty good – I dug up three blackberry vines from the flowerbed (a small but significant fraction of them), and even made some progress on painting the fence. I hope the unexpected rain a few hours later wasn’t too soon for the paint.
- On Simply Ming they made two types of delicious-looking burgers – one with a filling (caramelized onions, roasted red pepper, mushrooms, cheese, spices), and one where the meat was diluted with cooked bulgur wheat and mushrooms and spices.
- Then D. and I went to Pacific Winds to get him a new ligature – that’s the device you screw onto a clarinet to hold the reed in place. D. was very tired.
- Then I watched football – Oregon finally beat Stanford, and soundly – 45 to 16, if I remember right.
- After the game, J. and I went to the Mexican restaurant and discussed G’s lab topic this week – moral rules vs. strategic rules vs. strategic rules that violate moral rules (aka “rogue rules”). Then we discussed how those can apply in the Magic tournament context.
- Then I went on a walk in the dark and thought about my ideas for NaNoWriMo – the three of us are going to write stories this month!
