eve_primeApparently I am both klutzy _and_ mistrustful. Yesterday the checker at Safeway was bagging up my groceries, and he’d set a few things to the side to bag up last because they were more delicate. Then he put two things into the bag. I thought he’d set aside three things, though, so I leaned forward and to the left to get a look... and smacked my cheekbone into the rigid sheet of plastic that they clip their codebook onto. At least it missed my eye. At least I don’t have a ridiculous bruise. Yet, anyway.
However, now I can’t sleep well on my left side, because I end up smushing my face into the pillow, and then I wake up in pain. It’s also no fun to wash my face.
Maybe it’s a first-week-in-October thing. It was October 7th last year when I tripped and fell hard on the sidewalk after dark – it took six months for my knee to heal properly.
Things are fine otherwise. D’s eating “creamsicle” ice cream and studying his iPhone. J’s napping beside me on the couch, Ajani curled up on his chest. Ajani always looks so dramatic – pure white against J’s dark green shirt, the dark green couch, and the cranberry-colored blanket across J’s lap.
