liadanlj’s daughter might be on it, as she’s the only body painter I know, but of course that would have been very unlikely. But that’s the reason I watched the first episode today, that and the intriguing commercials.
It was moderately interesting, but not as much as Face Off. I’m rooting for Felle, an unassuming but talented man from Detroit, although I don’t know that I’ll watch again. D. rolled his eyes at the ending, when they showed the model for the losing art taking a shower, to “wash the canvas.” I suppose that will be their signature conclusion, which mildly degrades the focus on the art, in my opinion.
Oh – one of the judges was RuPaul, and I realized that there must be a term out there that I now need but never thought about before. What’s the word for being “not in drag” for someone who usually appears in drag? I think it was the first time I’d seen him dressed “male.”
