The Thing With Feathers

My co-worker’s son is seriously into birds. I remember when he was a kid; he got a lot of attention (even a newspaper article, iirc?) for his excellent bird drawings. Now he’s all grown up, a world traveller, and has just published his second book, which sounds really cool.

Here’s a really big writeup in our local paper (front page of the Sunday lifestyle section), entitled “Bird Nerd for Life”

And misspellings aside, here’s a very nice review in the Washington Post, of all places!

Now I’m trying to buy a copy... yesterday I visited the nearest locally owned bookstore for it. They were sold out, but a new batch was due at noon today. So I went back today at 4:30 p.m., but they’d just sold the last one two minutes earlier. Another five are due on Friday, and this time I have my name down for one.
