Hallow E’en
Oct. 31st, 2013 09:25 pmI think D. was happy with his “What Does the Fox Say?” costume, with a few exceptions. First, he probably regrets having chosen a costume with a catch-phrase – early in the day, when people asked him, he’d respond with the full first line, “Ring-a-ding-ding-ding-ding-a-ring-a-ding-ding-a-ding,” but by the end of the day, it was just an exasperated, “Ring.” Also, he learned that if you’re wearing a sweatshirt, it may be great for trick-or-treating, but not so wonderful for band class, as he got so overheated he thought he might faint, and had to leave the room for air.
J. and I pretentiously wore our “Pair O’Docs” costume, otherwise known as, getting our money’s worth out of our graduation garb. After dinner we walked with D. to the school, where he met up with his friend for trick-or-treat, then we manned the door here (having unfortunately missed the biggest crowds, in our absence), then we took him to a few friends’ houses nearby.
D. just announced that Mounds has passed Twix as his favorite chocolate candy, and his favorite fruit-flavored candy is Swedish fish. His brother couldn’t stand coconut, and didn’t even like chocolate until he was a teen.
Now we’re just being cozy. J’s finishing The Rithmatist, and D’s getting ready for bed. Happy Halloween, y’all!
