Christmas Day

It's a typical Christmas day in our house. D. is playing De Blob on his new Wii, with encouragement from B. R. is playing Sacred on his PC. Lillian is trying to find a truly Thor-free zone. I've been reading Monty Python and Philosophy, wishing I had time to write an essay on wonder-based ethics for the upcoming Doctor Who and Philosophy, and thinking about going on a walk in the rain.
Presents I got:
Books: Two travel-adventure-history books by Christopher Ondaatje, which I've read and enjoyed: Journey to the Source of the Nile and Sindh Revisited. The aforementioned Monty Python book (really fun!). Wicked Lovely and its sequel. The ecofeminism book by my long-ago friend Marti Kheel, and a copy of Cranford (from B).
DVDs: The Solid Gold Cadillac, a Judy Holliday romantic comedy about corporate corruption, which I hadn't seen since I was 9 or 10; the more recent BBC version of Pride & Prejudice (yes, the Colin Firth one); and a collection of Bogart-and-Bacall movies. Also, from my stocking, the third Mummy movie.
Pretty: A turquoise glass ball for one of our trees (from D).
Stocking: Three clinky bracelets, three pairs of socks, cat-themed playing cards, a white cat light switch plate, a ceramic bell, a pack of gel pens, three tangerines, a bunch of filberts, a beanie baby pig, and two crystal glass figurines I wanted: a baby polar bear and a penguin with a tummy that looks like Lillian's.
Added: I opened the door to head out on my walk, and the rain has turned to snow! It's snowing! D. (clapping his hands): "It's a Christmas miracle!"
