Okay, I did make it down to the park today. J went on a bike ride to the river, where he saw several families of goslings with their parents. About when I knew he was headed back, I set forth, and I walked all the way down the hill to the playground without a problem, then settled on a bench. When he let me know he was at the high school, almost two miles away, I walked to the farther end of the park and waited for him, and then we walked back together. I had apparently hit my limit, though, because just as we were about to walk up the hill my back started feeling funny, so instead I climbed up the steeper but very short hill to the street my friend BHW lives on, so that J could ride home and come to fetch me in his car. I did walk another block and half while waiting, very slowly, and sat on a curb at the south end of the park and watched four deer grazing in the yard across the street. My leg feels extra tired, but I never got either a “twinge” or a full “jolt” of sciatic pain, so I hope that tomorrow I can resume shorter walks on flatter surfaces without a problem.
