A break in the rain
Mar. 17th, 2025 11:58 pmToday I joined J, D, and DG at a burger place downtown where I hadn’t eaten before; we were there so J could try their St Patrick's Day milkshake. I wore green, and J wore extra green; even DG had a green jacket, and D doesn't own any green clothing so he was in shades of grey. I'm only 1/16 Irish and J probably isn't Irish at all; I don't suppose DG is either but one never knows.
After that, I managed to get our so-called holiday newsletters printed at the FedEx/Kinko’s place, even though it’s all self-service now and I had failed to bring in my reading glasses. I saved a bunch of money by making one side black-and-white and the other in color, and they let me use my own higher quality paper too (although I didn’t get a discount for bringing my own paper).
It's going to take us quite a while to get them sent, since I’ve got this idea that we’ll hand-address them this year, and my right hand is limited in how much it wants me to do like that, and J’s writing is illegible. But, as usual, if you’d like to read a brief summary of our year and see our photos, and if you don’t already get these from us, let me know and I’ll be happy to add you to the list.
After that, I shopped at Market of Choice and chatted a bit with some neighbors I encountered there, then I watched a show by a British comedian named Alan Carr about Agatha Christie, then I read a bunch. Rain returns Wednesday!
