Beauty, by Robin McKinley. An old favorite - a fun and restful retelling of "The Beauty and the Beast." Kind of strange to read it in parallel with Frankenstein, though - another "beast" who is sure he needs a partner in life to redeem him.

The Monsters: Mary Shelley and the Curse of Frankenstein, by Dorothy and Thomas Hoobler. Very interesting account of the lives of the people connected with Frankenstein: Mary Shelley, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Lord Byron, John Polidori, and the woman who brought them together, Mary's step-sister Claire Clairmont, who was pregnant with Byron's child. Their lives would have been so different with modern medicine...
