Day 895: And they're off!
Aug. 30th, 2022 07:43 pmD&S have embarked on their first big trip together, as adults, on their own. S's grandparents live in Florida, and they sent her a fancy Disney gift card for her graduation gift, so they're headed to Disneyworld. They've made the trip before, but her mom was in charge then, so this is exciting for them!
So this afternoon, J. drove them to our local airport and answered their questions about what to do next. They've arrived in Seattle and are waiting for the flight to Orlando. Then they expect to get a shuttle to their hotel, where they'll collapse and sleep a few hours, then probably go to the Disney water park. D. will go without his glasses and hope he can see well enough, as he discovered he didn't have any more contact lenses. (The last time he used them was so he didn't have to wear glasses as part of his Halloween costume.)
Thursday is Animal Kingdom, and Friday will be Magic Kingdom. On Saturday, S. will somehow join her grandparents for a week-long visit, while D. will fly all the way back here on his own, and then he'll have a day or two to figure out this week's massive homework assignment for his class.
While he's gone, I've set a few small goals - caulking behind the kitchen sink, cleaning the fridge.
