Day 811: Ha ha, my new career
Jun. 7th, 2022 11:51 pmWe needed to fix J's garbage disposal, which was just making a humming sound, and his hex wrench set didn't have the right size for the slot at the bottom where you can supposedly wriggle one to fix it. But the Internet also suggested just sticking a broom handle in through the sink and moving it all about to dislodge whatever's stuck. So J tried that, with no success. But he let me try, and it worked! I have saved us whatever it would cost to have a plumber come out, go me.
D. just finished writing a 10+ page "research proposal" in one day, due at midnight. I read it and pointed out a few things, but overall it was very articulate, and measured, and intelligent. If he wanted to do grad school in linguistics, I bet they'd take him. But he does not. Writing clearly about difficult topics should serve him well in whatever he does, though.
