Day 806: Garden problem-solving
Jun. 2nd, 2022 11:54 pmIt occurs to me that it would be so much easier to clean up our gardens if we had a properly functioning weed-eater (a.k.a. string trimmer). Although I do own one, it doesn't really work. That is, the nylon "string" breaks within mere seconds of me turning it on.
But, hooray Internet. First I tried shopping for a product with a less fragile technology, and I didn't find any such thing. So then I looked up how to keep the string from breaking. One person said that whenever the string contacts a hard surface, it's likely to break, so avoid hard surfaces... Another person said to make sure the string doesn't cross over itself inside the housing. I'm not sure if that's practical? However, numerous sources said that the answer is to soak the string! If it's dry, it's fragile, but soaking it overnight makes it tough again.
We're about to have three more days of rain, but after that, we shall see!
