Day 791: The bad. And the good!
May. 18th, 2022 09:42 pmWhen D. got up today, he did a home test for COVID, and neither of us was surprised that it was positive. Poor D - he's been so scrupulous about wearing his mask, even at work and on campus, where probably more than half do not. He had a bad sore throat starting abruptly last night, and big chills a couple hours ago. On the other hand, he was able to talk with S. on the phone a long time, despite his sore throat, and he was able to do homework for a while, rather than just sleeping. So it could be worse.
S, J, and I all tested negative, though we all have sore throats too. I don't know about S, but J. and I don't feel too bad. Yet. We put on our KN-95 masks and bought enough groceries to last for five days of seclusion. Alas, no sword class or fight night for J, no in-person outdoor lab meeting or symphony for me, and probably not the Asian Night Market special event on Friday either.
Meanwhile... our friends made an offer on the house we discussed on Monday, and the offer was accepted! I'll put a link to the photos in a friends-locked post. They'll have an inspection on Tuesday and then lots and lots of paperwork. I drove J. over there to look at the neighborhood. He was impressed! We also made friends with one of their new neighbors, a tortoiseshell-tabby cat.
