Day 728: Fence preparations, in a rush
Mar. 15th, 2022 11:32 pmToday I got an email from the fence guy, saying they'd emailed on Friday and plan to be at my house tomorrow. They're going to remove the old picket fence and put in new posts, then another day this week they'll install the new pickets. But... I did not get the email on Friday. I phoned, and he said I wasn't the only person to tell him that. (Too bad we had the exact same issue back in the fall when J's new fence got installed, with the same explanation.)
So I'm glad it wasn't raining today. I went out and tied up all the roses that sprawl along the fence, getting them out of the way. I also moved the planter boxes so they're closer to my old car instead of right up against the fence. I'd hoped to have the old car towed away before they came, so they could use that space, but I wasn't expecting them for a few weeks, and I haven't finished getting everything out of the trunk.
It's going to be quite a shock to the cats, having the fence disappear!
Also I'll have to be up tomorrow when they arrive, and that won't be fun either, since I'll have had only ~4 hrs of sleep by that point. It's going to be a weird day.
But I did get caught up on sleep enough that I did get to go to tonight's Delgani concert, which was extra fun because I'd already seen it all on Sunday. Afterwards I chatted a while with Jannie, the second violinist.
