Day 683: Sunny Saturday

I drove to campus twice today - the first time was to return a book before it became overdue and to find two more I needed; that was around 2 pm. The second was to collect D&S around 9 pm. I had a headache today, and it was rather excessively bright, but not so bad for the first drive to campus (facing mostly north and a bit east). Returning later to pick up D&S was much easier, as I took a low-traffic route for fewer headlights. It was "J-night," where the campus Japanese club has something of a cabaret-style event, and S's K-pop dance group always performs there. Two of D's high school friends are the president and vice president of the club, which is another reason he has fun attending.

In between, I mostly watched J. play in a tournament for the Storybook Brawl game. He's qualified by achieving the "mythic" rank in December, and today was the first round of some sort of championship. If he'd placed first or second (out of eight) in the sixth and final round, he would have advanced to Day Two with the top 110 players, but instead he placed eighth and was done. The top eight players will each get a share of $3500 in prize money. So he won't get any of that, but tI think he had a lot of fun playing!
