Day 288: Three things done
Dec. 28th, 2020 11:53 pmToday I managed to achieve three things:
- I went to the post office and bought 90 stamps, of which 10 are for "global" mail. I guess we no longer have different rates for Canada/Mexico and the rest of the world; they are all "global." And later I finished the first 26 cards, so be looking for yours,
claidheamhmor! I expect to stick them in a mailbox tomorrow.
- I filed for unemployment again, as quite enough time has elapsed since my last claim, and I'm now eligible, plus the stimulus package will add to it, which will help.
- I took D. for his third practice of driving. He's naturally fairly careful, so it's not too stressful, and our neighborhood is very quiet at night. However, as the temperature was around 30 degrees, the road was sparkly with ice crystals, and when we turned up 46th toward the elementary school, the road was altogether white, which gave me pause, and we swapped seats until I'd gotten us back to safer conditions. It wasn't scary for me to drive on it, but best not to risk anything - it was certainly slippery to walk on.
I felt generally fine today - yesterday's muscle aches must really have been from all that vacuuming after all, and my hand seems to be healing well enough. And that reminds me: Also I ordered flea medicine. It's been years since I've had fleas indoors, but the medicine is the same as it was before. It will be a challenge to get it onto all five cats.
