Day 286: On the feast of Stephen
Dec. 26th, 2020 11:46 pmMy two big "achievements" for today are two slashes in the palm of my right hand, and a minor "slash" in my soul, which isn't bothering me terribly but is there nonetheless. The former comes from an attempt to flea-comb poor Geordi, who panicked and dug his hindfoot claws into my palm to get away; the latter comes from watching the season six finale of Game of Thrones, in which Cersei takes an appalling revenge on the Sept and the rest of her local political enemies while extraordinarily beautiful piano-cello-and-organ music plays in the background.
I'm planning to write a blog post about the final failure of the TV version of Game of Thrones, but since I skipped two seasons of viewing before watching the finale live, I figure I'd better see them all first to make sure I know what I'm talking about. They're so brutal, though - it's hard to choose to inflict them on myself. Maybe I'll give up and read detailed summaries online - but then I'd miss out on the soundtrack highlights. And if I watch them, I'll regain a lot of DVR space.
