Day 266: Book completed
Dec. 6th, 2020 11:53 pmThe Sinister Mystery of the Mesmerizing Girl, by Theodora Goss. This is the latest (the third book) in her series about the Athena Club, comprised of now seven young Victorian women who were the result or otherwise victims of experimentation, e.g., Mary Jekyll and her sister Diana Hyde, Justine Frankenstein, Catherine Moreau, and so on. Holmes and Watson are also regular characters, and this time we also spent time with Ayesha (reminding me that I started She this year but didn't finish it) and Dorian Gray. Generally light reading, though there was at least one grisly moment.
Also today: made asparagus risotto and spaghetti, rewatched a Poldark episode, ranked scarlet oak leaves, worked on gifts a bit with J. Nothing remarkable. Also, I am thinking the lump in my elbow may be a ganglion cyst, which is harmless. Eventually I should ask a medical professional, of course.
