The sky seemed a little lighter today, but the air is about as bad as it's been at any point this week. Actually, here's the chart:

J. is finding it especially tiresome. It would be much easier for him if we could compensate for not going outdoors by having friends visit indoors. D. went over to S's house for a few hours today (of course I drove both directions).

No rain today, alas, though I'm told it sprinkled twice in a suburb of Portland, 100 miles from here. The particulate level did drop, though, and for a while this evening the air quality was merely "very unhealthy." We're now back to "hazardous." It could rain a quarter-inch on Thursday, though. Or, rather, I guess the latest prediction is .15 inches. Oh well.

Today I went to buy gasoline, which I hadn't done since early May! I also went to Market of Choice to get some food-variety. I bought a nice burrito for myself and chicken strips for D&J; I also bought some fresh fruit, a nice-looking loaf of sourdough bread, and two large bottles of water for D, who was very grateful. He thinks he can taste the fire-effects in our tap water, which to me is evidence that his air purifier is doing a very good job, since J. and I taste smoke and ash all the time, with the water no different.

I also watered a few outdoor plants and took out the recycling. Then I had to shower a second time because my hair smelled too smoky again. It's all so tedious. Poor J - the last five days were "vacation" for him, but all he could really do was sit in his comfy chair looking at his computer. Same as a work day, just different content.
