Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers. The first book in this series was light and perky, the second more serious, and this one was downright somber and occasionally sad, although ultimately uplifting. I'm looking forward to the fourth, though if she keeps getting darker I don't know where she'll end up. Also, one of the main characters has a speech about my book topic!

Today we finally did our long-awaited walk on Brae Burn Drive and back through the cemetery with our friends DG and AA. We also went past both of the houses they'd been interested in, when they were still in Denver. Picking our way through the undeveloped meadow on the south side of the cemetery was a challenge - the fields were full of Queen Anne's lace but there was enough poison oak in there with it that we were rather concerned. Also blackberries, of which a few were ripe! The whole walk lasted less than an hour and a half, but there was enough elevation change to give us all a good workout.
