Day 94: Three checkmarks
Jun. 16th, 2020 10:11 pmToday I had a big headache and didn't do a lot of work, but I did get three things done that I'm pleased about.
1. I got my grant proposal submitted... eight days before the deadline! That's a record for me, and very unusual at work. Two members of the grants team congratulated me in all-caps exclamations.
2. I ordered flowers online for D's grandma's birthday. It was on Saturday, but she won't know and thus won't care; I'm sure she'll like getting flowers.
3. I started the process of getting D's DMV appointment to do his driving permit test. Usually you just show up with the documents and stand in a series of lines until taking the test, then it's scored, then you're done. Not now, of course. Now you go online and request an appointment, then within five days (supposedly) someone will call me to schedule his appointment. Also I should find the paperwork from the previous time he did it (without adequate preparation) - maybe we won't have to pay the fee again.
As I noted, I didn't do a lot else today. I attended Beethoven String Quartet class and listened to bits of opus 130 and opus 131. I also invented a new appliance - I'm going to go to the hardware store eventually and buy a piece of 1" wire mesh, and then I can use it to strain the remnants of mostly finished bags of tortilla chips to identify the chips that are still worth eating and make it easier to throw the rest away.
D&S are celebrating their fourth anniversary as a couple. :)
