Day 92: Curry car
Jun. 14th, 2020 11:56 pmWe got take-out Thai food for dinner, yay! Lots of good vegetables, for once, and some better-quality protein, which is especially helpful for me since my blood sugar is often on the low side, and living on rice, wheat, legumes, and cheese leads to weight gain plus waking hungry in the middle of the night, not a great combo.
I went to pick it up in my car, J. being sleep deprived from having stayed up super-late watching lots of Outlaw Star. Today they were packaging all the food in paper sacks, which was unfortunate. It was especially unfortunate because they'd packaged my stir fry, and D's, in cardboard, which was rather crushed by the plastic container of J's curry. I set the bag on the passenger seat so I could keep a hand on it, to make sure it didn't fall over, and I zoomed back up the hill to pick up D. from S's house. By the time I got there, three minutes later, I picked up the bag so that D. could hold it in his lap... but so much had leaked out of the stir fries that the bottom fell out of the bag and spilled the leaked sauce all over the seat of the car. Ha. It will be quite a mess to clean up tomorrow. I'm just glad I hadn't used J's car.
I got things almost wrapped up today for two proposals, my own and one I'm helping with, which is way ahead of schedule for both of them. My admin assistant did a bunch of work and sent it to me in the morning, and again in the evening, which was impressive since it's Sunday. Also I had fun today thinking about an essay I could write about The Mists of Avalon.
