We all know that language can be racist, sexist, ageist, ablist... well, tonight I realized that language can also be pentadactylist. That is, I was playing finger games with Ginevra, batting at her paws as she batted back at mine, and I suddenly realized that saying "Gimme five!" or "High five!" to a friend with six or seven toes on her foot is Just Not Right.
